Our History

Richardson & Associates, is a full-service CPA firm that provides tax services, consulting, auditing, and QuickBooks services, founded in 2007 in Cincinnati, Ohio serving individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations.

Richardson & Associates’ services start with the end goal in mind to look for potential cost savings and revenue sources.  In other words – I want to help organizations grow their revenue and become as cost-effective as possible! Our customized business solutions have a requirement of excellence as the only criteria.

Thinking of creative ways to help our clients grow is our “niche”. I guess you can say we are literally “Accounting for Your Success” ®!

LEAD Cincinnati Emerging Business Awards – 2016

The Emerging Business Award honors businesses that are in the midst of experiencing growth or have been steadily growing throughout the years. Richardson & Associates, LLC has been chosen based on exceptional leadership, expertise in their field, and the positive impact on the lives of their employees.

University of Cincinnati Diversity Scholarship Program – 2015  

Richardson & Associates has been dedicated to helping first-generation and underrepresented students succeed at the highest level by aiding in the acquisition of scholarship funds for students. R&A was an instrumental part in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for diversity-related scholarships. Our firm also supports underrepresented UC students to succeed in the accounting profession by mentoring and hiring co-ops through the Business Fellows program at UC’s Lindner College of Business. 

Ohio Society of CPAs, CPA Voice – 2014

The Ohio Society of CPAs gives members relevant information on trends in the profession, along with content targeted to their area of work. We were featured on the cover of the March/April 2014 edition and was praised for the positive impact we are having related to diversity in the accounting world, by breaking stereotypes and engaging youth.

Messer Construction Co. MBE/WBE Spotlight – 2014

We were chosen specifically by Messer Construction Co. to be represented by the MBE/WBE Spotlight based on our work with the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Project. This project included designing and delivering an audit process for Messer, and per Paul Hitter, Senior VP and CFO, “To be successful, this required enhanced disclosure and trust amongst partners. Sherri Richardson worked with us to balance transparency while maintaining individual partner confidentiality. This required a financial analysis of the unique aspects of each firm as well as the development of a common methodology and application to the project. R&A delivered an unconventional audit solution that met the objectives of all parties involved while maintaining inde­pendence, objectivity, and tight schedule and cost objectives.”

Ohio Jobs and Family Services Annual Super Award – 2013

Richardson & Associates, LLC is one of the twelve public and private employers that have been recognized by the Southwest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board (SWORWIB) for their commitment to mentoring and employing youth, those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and people who are currently unemployed. This award was to recognize our effort to Work with the SuperJobs Center to hire several people who were unemployed using On the Job Training accounts.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Blue Ribbon Small Business Award – 2012

It was a very competitive award and as a Blue Ribbon Award winner, we are entered into the running for the Community Excellence Award. This award is determined by votes from the community and recognizes small businesses, which have been leaders in job creation, community involvement, and best business practices.  Nationwide winner awarded in Washington D.C.!

Sherri Richardson –   Woman of Distinction Award – 2012

The Woman of Distinction Awards Reception is an annual fundraising event honoring women leaders in the greater Cincinnati region, who demonstrate strong initiative and personal leadership on issues relating to women and girls. Proceeds from the Woman of Distinction Reception support Girl Scouts of Western Ohio program activities to build girls of courage, confidence, and character.

Small Business Of The Year – 2011

Richardson & Associates was awarded Small Business of the Year by the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Cincinnati Ohio. This award recognizes a top-performing small business in Cincinnati that excels in terms of business & income growth, quality of services, and community involvement.

Reaching for the Stars Leaders for the Future Award – 2010

Sherri Richardson, CEO of Richardson & Associates, was awarded the 2010 Reaching for the Stars Program, Leaders for the Future Award for exceptional business achievement, leadership, and community service.  We were nominated by Cincinnati City Manager, Milton Dohoney.

African American Chamber of Commerce Emerging Business of the Year – 2009

This award recognizes a member of the African American Chamber of Commerce that has been in business for 3 years or less, practicing sound business strategies, demonstrates solid business growth and employee programs, in addition to community involvement.
